This dhyan is for 15 minutes and is done in three stages. This dhyan can be done by anybody, anywhere, anytime, and there is no restriction of age. By focusing our attention on the sound, the mind gets accustomed to move towards concentration. This is an easy and simple method to control the mind. When this is practiced in purple light, it gives relief from stress. This dhyan can be beneficial only when taught by a teacher of the ‘Sai-amrit’ method.
FIRST STAGE: HRIDAY SPANDAN
TIME: 5 MINUTES
Sit down in Sukhasan. Organize yourself and relax your body. You should not move your body during the practice time. Close your eyes. Become aware of the breath coming and going from both the nostrils. Now bring your awareness on your throat. Feel the breath on your throat. There should be a gentle sound of snoring while breathing, just as a child snores in deep slumber. You have to feel the breathing only in your throat. After that, add ‘Om’ to every inhalation and ’Sai’ to every exhalation. Utter ‘Om’ mentally while breathing in. utter ‘Sai’ mentally while breathing out. In this way, continue the process of uttering ‘Om Sai’ mentaaly while breathing and snoring.
SECOND STAGE: NIYANTRAN (CONTROL)
TIME: 5 MINUTES
Sit in a firm and stable posture. Control your breath and close your eyes, focus your attention on the tick-tock, tick-tock sound of the clock kept near you. When your mind goes astray, bring it back to the sound of the clock.
THIRD STAGE: EKAGRATA (CONCENTRATION)
TIME 5 MINUTES
In this stage, continue to close your eyes and once again try to listen to the sound of the clock. You can listen to any kind of sound like the melody of a flute, violin, wind chimer, bells, etc. initially these sounds will be very loud, but gradually they will start becoming more and more subtle. Another thing that should be kept in mind is that you have listen to the sound from one ear only. The other ear has to be kept closed. If your attention gets diverted, try to come back to the original position.
